Acid Foods | Acidic Foods

This is general advice, if you are going to be on a diet of acid reflux. and eating heavy meals just before bedtime is not recommended when you are on a diet of acid reflux. It is also supposed to avoid fat and / or spicy. All these habits can lead to increased production of stomach acid that can enter and damage the esophagus. This is particularly true if the closing muscles do not work as they should. The consequence is that you end up with permanent heartburn.

There are foods that should be considered when you are talking about an acid reflux diet. There are foods to avoid, foods that can be consumed in moderation and foods that you definitely can have. The first section of the acid reflux diet food deal to avoid:

Fruit - lemon, orange juice, lemonade, cranberry juice, tomato and grapefruit juice

Vegetables - Mashed potatoes, raw onion and fries

Meat - Ground beef or chuck, chicken nuggets, loin of marble buffalo wings

Milk - milk shake, cream, ice cream and regular cottage cheese

Beans - Spaghetti with sauce and macaroni and cheese

Drinks - Wines, Spirits, all coffee whether decaffeinated or regular, if all the tea decaffeinated or regular
