Dehydrated Food Recipes | Dehydrating Food Recipes

Dehydrated food recipes became very popular in the 60's during the Cold War era and the Cuban missile crisis. In many parts of the United States, the shelters were built, and people actually had to stay underground for long periods of time. This was the time when canned foods and dry foods became a necessity for most citizens.

Even when they were in shelters, people did not want to miss out on tasty food in exchange for canned soft taste. Therefore, many of the bomb shelter occupants developed different types of recipes to improve the taste of canned foods that are available to them.

The longer the war broke out, people became more creative in inventing their own recipes. Actually there were a lot of options so they can take their culinary innovations. Several types of dehydrated foods were available - meat, vegetables, soups. They used different combinations of these foods to make the food very delicious.
